VERNISSAGE: Marcel Dzama!
Marcel Dzama is a Winnipeg artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He works in drawing, painting, sculpture and film.
His artwork is on the album covers by Beck, The Weakerthans and They Might Be Giants, and he has collaborated on music videos for Department of Eagles, N.A.S.A., and Bob Dylan. Returning to Montreal after his solo exhibition at the Musée d’Art Contemporain in 2010, POP Montreal is delighted to present a selection of Marcel Dzama films, including the World Premiere of Death Disco Dance and the Canadian Premiere of A Game of Chess. The selection will run looped from Wednesday to Sunday in POP Quarters (3450 St-Urbain).
Join us on Friday at 5pm for a screening with live musical accompaniment by special guests.
A Q&A with Dzama will follow this screening, moderated by Mark Lanctôt.
